MediaTek Dimensity 7360: Features, Performance & Everything You Need to Know
Close on the heels of launching the Dimensity 8450 chipset in August last year, MediaTek has yet again launched a mid-range chipset, the Dimensity 7360. It was launched in September last year. It is a modern mid-range 5G chipset designed to deliver a balanced mix of performance, gaming features, AI capabilities, power efficiency, and advanced connectivity.
MediaTek positions the Dimensity 7360 as a refined and more efficient option. This chipset is designed for users who want flagship-level features without flagship pricing, making it an attractive option for premium mid-range devices. One of its strongest features is the camera, which supports a camera sensor up to 200MP.
CPU Architecture and Performance
Like most of the signature Dimensity chipsets, the 7360 uses an octa-core CPU with a smart balance of power and efficiency:
4x Cortex-A78 cores (up to 2.5GHz) for heavy tasks like gaming, multitasking, and camera processing
4× Cortex-A55 cores for everyday tasks and background apps to save battery
This combination ensures smooth performance without draining too much power. Also, this chipset is built on a 4nm class process node, which saves power, maintaining stable performance for a long period of time, and uses less power.
GPU and Gaming
This chipset features the Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, which is designed to deliver smooth and reliable mid-range gaming performance. It supports MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0 and Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which helps to maintain a stable frame rate while using power efficiently. This results in smoother gameplay and less heating during long gaming sessions.
Also, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360’s Adaptive Gaming Technology 3.0 gives a real-time gaming performance optimization system that improves mobile gaming performance and efficiency.
Although it is not a flagship gaming chipset, the Dimensity 7360 can run popular games like BGMI, Mobile Legends 5v5, on medium settings, and Asphalt 9 with consistent performance and minimal thermal throttling.
Display Support and Visual Experience
The MediaTek Dimensity 7360 supports high refresh rate displays, making everyday use, gaming, and scrolling feel smooth and responsive.
The Dimensity 7360 can also easily handle WFHD+ displays at up to 120Hz and Full HD+ displays at up to 144Hz, which is ideal for modern smartphones. Also, it is powered by MiraVision 995 display technology, which improves color accuracy, contrast, and brightness, and HDR video playback. These features together deliver a clear, vibrant, and premium visual experience for binge watching, gaming, and everyday tasks.
Camera and Imaging Features
Imaging is one of the strongest areas of Dimensity 7360, all thanks to MediaTek’s 950 image signal processor (ISP). It supports a single camera sensor up to 200MP and uses 12-bit HDR processing to capture more details and better colors.
Features like hardware based noise reduction, advanced face detection, and AI-powered image enhancements help to improve the quality of photos in different lighting conditions.
For recording videos, this chipset supports 4K HDR recording at 30fps with electronic image stabilization which minimizes the blurring and shaking often seen in videos and images with AI- assisted exposure, white balance, and autofocus. Overall, these features make the Dimensity 7360 a good option for camera-focused mid-range smartphones.
AI Capabilities
AI tasks on Dimensity 7360 are powered by the 6th-generation NPU 655, and it handles mixed-precision AI workloads. Which is mainly used for camera improvements, scene recognition, AI noise reduction, and optimizing system performance and power usage. While it delivers reliable and efficient AI features, it is more of a refinement than a major upgrade.
Connectivity and 5G Features
Connectivity is one of the strongest aspects of MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360. It comes with a 5G release 16 modem that supports peak download speeds of up to 3.27 Gbps, along with dual 5G sim support and dual VoNR for clear calls.
This chipset also includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and full GNSS support, including India’s NavIC system, which is an indigenous regional satellite navigation system developed by ISRO that provides precise positioning. Together, these features make the Dimensity 7360 future-ready and well-suited for both global and Indian markets.
Memory, Storage, and Efficiency
The Dimensity 7360 supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, which helps to apps load faster, reduce lag, and improve overall device responsiveness with memory speed up to 6400Mbps, alongside fast UFS 3.1 storage. This chipset focuses on consistent or balanced performance rather than just chasing benchmark scores.
What About MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo
MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo is an optimized version of the Dimensity 7360 with a focus on delivering an enhanced gaming experience and power efficiency with slightly higher CPU and GPU clock speeds, and is aimed at short-term peak performance. Also, 7360 Turbo can result in better benchmark scores and slightly smoother gaming.
