Dimensity 9500: All About MediaTek’s Next-Gen Chipset

 MediaTek has taken the flagship market to a new level by launching the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which is a flagship chipset. It was launched in September 2025 and well, it can easily compete with top Snapdragon flagships.

The chipset is built on a 3nm process and is an all-rounder for enhancing the user experience in every aspect, whether it is gaming, photography, or advanced AI features.

CPU​

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is built on TSMC’s third-gen 3nm process. The CPU on this chipset is an all-big-core with 1x Cortex-C1-Pro at 2.7GHz. We are talking about ARMv9.3 architecture with massive L3 caches up to 16MB. 

What does this mean? This means a smoother multitasking experience and no more Frame drops, even when you are switching between tabs on Chrome or gaming.

The chipset has already proven to be better in performance than its predecessor, Dimensity 9400, and has also given close competition to the Snapdragon 8 Elite in real-world stuff like app launches and sustained gaming.

GPU

When it comes to the GPU, Android gaming just got an upgrade with the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU, which means a 33% performance uplift and 42% better efficiency as compared to the last gen, with ray tracing up to 120FPS in heavy games.

Imagine playing games with the support of Unreal Engine 5.6 with MegaLights and Nanite tech running super smooth, no stutters or lag. No more settling for midrange compromises when you upgrade to flagship power. 

Other than that, MediaTek has also added frame generation, making high-refresh screens feel even snappier. Combine that with fast LPDDR5X RAM at 10,667MT/s and UFS 4.1 storage, and loading huge AI models or 100GB games happens really fast.

An example of this is if you game on Vivo X300, which is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, you can notice a smoother gameplay, all thanks to the LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This makes the gaming experience seamless and keeps the phone cool at the same time. 

I played BGMI on this device and was really impressed with the smooth gameplay. The graphics are so smooth, and I noticed that there were no lags while gaming, and the battery also did not drain much, and the phone remains cool while gaming. 

AI Capabilities

Now, let us talk about the AI element of the chipset. The main highlight is the NPU 990, MediaTek’s ninth-gen brainiac with Generative AI Engine 2.0. It also supports BitNet 1.58-bit models for 33% less power draw, and it also handles 3-billion-parameter LLMs at 100% faster speeds.

If we talk about the 4K image generation, the 128K token processing ensures to back your chats with AI assistants. Plus, the CIM-based setup excels in the offline tasks, which means no more cloud dependency.

Camera 

The camera technology is really interesting, MediaTek’s Imagiq 1190 ISP, which supports up to 320MP sensors, 200MP continuous tracking at 30fps, and Android’s first 4K120 Dolby Vision capture with EIS for shake-free clips.

With portrait video support at 4K60, this can be a really good choice for content creators for Reels and Shorts.

Vivo X300 is a perfect example of a good photography experience, as the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, combined with Vivo’s V3+, provides such a good experience, even if you are capturing shots in day or at night, it provides an enhanced photography experience, which justifies the specifications of the chipset.

I checked the camera at both times, in daylight, and it provides neat and clean shots with a clear and effective zoom, and for the night shots too, the camera provides clear shots, even if you record a video at night, you would not be disappointed, it is really enhanced. 

Display and Connectivity

For the display, you get MiraVision tweaks for adaptive HDR based on ambient light, supporting WQHD+ at 180Hz or even tri-fold setups via tri-port MIPI.

On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi 7 with 7.3Gbps peaks, Bluetooth 6.0, and sub-6 5G with 5CC carrier aggregation for faster download speeds.
